Why is First Baptist Raymore here? To communicate to you the following: God’s Purpose "...I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10b) "...we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:1) Since God planned for us to have an abundant and peace filled life, why are most people not having this experience?
Our Problem "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) "...your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you so that he will not hear." (Isaiah 59:2) On our own, there's no way we can attain the perfection needed to bridge the gap to God. Good works won't do it...or religion...or money...or morality...or philosophy... the best we can do is not good enough. All the right things we have done are like filthy pieces of cloth. (Isaiah 64:6)
God’s Remedy - The Cross "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God..." (I Peter 3:18) "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ." (I Timothy 2:5) "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
Your Response "That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10) "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." (Acts 3:19) Turning to Jesus as Savior and Lord (faith) and turning from sin (repentance) are the needed responses to have a relationship with God. Will you respond today? Next Steps When you have responded to Christ in faith and repentance, please fill out a "Welcome" Brochure located in the pew back. Put this in the offering plate or bring it with you when the pastor asks for public decisions. Ministers will help you with next steps in becoming a member of First Baptist Raymore.
